The Thrift Shop has been dedicated to helping the children and families in the Boston area since 1926 offering a variety of goods including furniture, artwork, books, bric-a-brac, jewelry and clothing. It has served as a vital community resource, providing low-income individuals and families with reasonably priced home and clothing essentials, and as a hotspot for bargain-hunters. Since its inception, the shop has supported many local charitable organizations through generous financial contributions. As of May 2000, The Home became the sole agency to benefit from 100% of the Thrift Shop’s end of year financial distributions. This winter, The Thrift Shop and The Home partnered to create a new, larger, customized location that will house The Thrift Shop as well as The Home for Little Wanderers’ NewStart furniture distribution program as well as its annual holiday gift drive.
