Boston Foundation supports Task Force on Youth Aging Out of DSS Care

BOSTON — "The Home for Little Wanderers has been awarded a grant of $30,000 by the Boston Foundation," said Joan Wallace-Benjamin, President and CEO of The Home for Little Wanderers.

According to The Home, the grant will be used to support the Task Force on Youth Aging Out of DSS Care and its Phase III efforts.

"Our organization has played a leadership role in delivering services to thousands of children, many of whom are in DSS care, during the last 200 years," Wallace-Benjamin said. "The Grant from the Boston Foundation will give us additional resources to focus on the implementation of a set of recommendations for changes in practices, law, public policies and interagency collaboration to successfully prepare DSS-involved youth for college, work and life." These recommendations, referred to as the "blueprint for action," will be rolled out starting this June at public forums across the state of Massachusetts.

The Home for Little Wanderers is a nationally renowned, private, non-profit child and family service agency providing services to thousands of children and families, through 20 programs.
