The Linus Foundation's Boston Launch Event Donates $4,000 to The Home

Boston, MA — The Linus Foundation launched their newly established Boston branch at the renowned Longwood Events, Veronique ballroom in Brookline, MA. The event attracted more than 200 of Boston’s young business leaders, allowing the Linus Foundation to donate $4,000 to the Home for Little Wanderers, and establish roots in the Boston community. In conjunction with their first Boston event, the Linus Foundation is proud to announce their first corporate sponsor, The Law Offices of James Sokolove, who made a generous contribution to the event.

The event brought in a young crowd with wine and light hors d’oeuvres. A donation by Castle Brands Liquor allowed for a flowing martini bar throughout the night, showcased on an Asian fusion rollaway bar by Party by Design’s. Sam Adams and Gordon’s Liquors both made significant donations toward the event’s ample beverage selection. Soul Fire BBQ, known for tasty backyard favorites with gourmet flair, catered the event and excited taste buds with Mac & Cheese balls, pulled pork and sausage sandwiches, chili, and even chicken wings. Marty’s Liquors donated an elaborate fresh antipasto station that adorned the center of the ballroom. The entire event was topped by Leaf and Petal, who provided exquisite fresh floral arrangements that created an extraordinary aura lasting throughout the evening.

The latter half of the event included a special raffle including an authentic Daisuke Matsuzaka signed baseball, Red Sox Tickets, a $150 gift certificate to Capital Grille, a Budweiser Burton snowboard, a Puma Golf bag, an entire line of Be Fine Skin Care and much more to local beauty salons and retail stores. Dancing ensued as Soul Clap entertainment transformed the event space from a cocktail room into a packed dance floor.

Josh Mandel, Vice-President of the Linus Foundation and Boston resident, commented on the success of Linus’ inaugural Boston event, “As we look to expand the organization into different cities, our main goal is to establish a reputable name in the community so that later events will create a much stronger impact on the community and larger donations can really be made to the kids.”

The Linus Foundation donation made to the Home for Little Wanderers will be used for the children’s library at the Parents’ Center at Saltonstall House, one of The Home’s 20 programs. The donation will pay for therapeutic children’s books, bookshelves for the children’s resource area, helping the staff to organize all of the children’s books and enabling the program to create a specific “therapeutic book” section.
