Walmart Associate Choice Program

The Home for Little Wanderers Selected as a Grant Finalist

BOSTON — Beginning July 7, Walmart and Sam’s Club Associates throughout Massachusetts will decide whether The Home for Little Wanderers, one of New England’s largest child welfare agencies, will receive a $100,000 grant as part of this year’s Walmart Foundation Associate Choice Program. The Home, which provides services for at-risk children and their families across the Commonwealth, is the oldest child and family service agency in the nation and one of five statewide non-profits selected for this year’s competition.

“We are honored that The Home was chosen as a Walmart Associate Choice Program finalist for our longstanding commitment to improving the lives of children. Through the support of businesses like Walmart and Sam’s Club, we are able to serve thousands of at-risk children, many of whom have been abused or neglected, and their families each year,” said Mary Fronk, Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations, The Home for Little Wanderers. “Walmart’s support of The Home’s community-based residential and special education programs helps the heart of our mission, to ensure healthy emotional, social and mental development of children, their families, and communities.”

The Walmart Foundation sponsors the annual Associate Choice Program in all fifty states through August. Thousands of Walmart associates will use their employee benefits website — www.mywalmart.com — to cast a vote for the non-profit they feel is most deserving of the grant based on the submitted non-profit descriptions. The winners will be announced at the conclusion of Walmart associate voting.
