Give Back to Schoolchildren

Collection of colors and more for The Home For Little Wanderers' students

Colorwheel Collection is partnering with The Home for Little Wanderers, one of New England's largest children and family services agencies, in the collection of Back to School supplies. The collected items will be distributed to grade-school aged children throughout The Home's many programs as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Colorwheel Collection will start receiving donations on Saturday, August 14 at 4266 Washington Street in Roslindale. Much-needed items that The Home requests for grade-schoolers are new and unused construction paper, lined paper, crayons, color markers, pencils, erasers, pencil cases, glue sticks, scotch tape, and backpacks.

Vernee Wilkinson, owner of Colorwheel Collection, considers it a privilege to work with and give to The Home. Wilkinson hopes that the collected supplies will be a provision in unlocking the potential in learning and creative spirit of the resilient children of The Home for Little Wanderers.

Community members who make donations at Colorwheel on Saturday, August 28 are invited to enjoy in-store Back to School activities and special discounts. Young visitors are welcome to participate in a special Show and Tell session at 12 noon. Shoppers will be offered 15% off of their purchase when they donate 10 or more school supplies.

Back to School supplies will be collected at Colorwheel Collection August 14 - September 25, 2010. On Saturday, August 14 donations will be collected at the Roslindale Farmers' Market in the Colorwheel Collection booth and at the Washington Street storefront. Donations can be dropped off Tuesday Wednesday 11-5, Thursday 11-7, Friday 11 -6, and Saturday 10 -3. The neighborhood retailer specializes in vibrant + essential gifts for children.
