J.P. Licks Partners with The Home for Little Wanderers

Boston's Award Winning Local Ice Cream Maker Raises Funds and Awareness for Local Kids in Need

Boston's favorite local ice cream maker announced today that they have established a long-term partnership with The Home for Little Wanderers — the nation’s oldest and one of New England's largest child and family service agencies.  J.P. Licks has donated to hundreds of causes and charities over the years and has earned a reputation as an active supporter of the local community.

Now celebrating its 30th year as a Boston business, J.P. Licks recently reached out to The Home for Little Wanderers to assist with raising funds and awareness for the 200-year-old organization.

"We have been giving to local charities for over 30 years," stated J.P. Licks Founder and Owner, Vince Petryk. "I believed it was time to create a more formal partnership with a local organization that is focused on directly impacting the recipients of the fundraising effort. Just like J.P. Licks, The Home for Little Wanderers has strong roots in the Jamaica Plain community and I felt that we can both work together to directly change the lives of kids who can use a little help and put a smile on the faces with our ice cream."

J.P. Licks is kicking off the partnership on July 1, 2011 with their "Buck for a Buck" campaign, a point-of-sale fundraising effort.  J.P. Licks has produced $1 coupons for purchase at all of their locations.  Each $1 coupon is good for purchase of any of their delicious ice cream, frozen tart yogurt, coffee, smoothies or baked goods in any of the 10 area ice cream shops. All the funds raised from this campaign will support children and families living in at-risk circumstances who are touched by The Home's programs throughout Eastern Massachusetts.

J.P. Licks will also highlight their summer efforts by involving their staff in a day of service at one of The Home's local facilities.

"Meaningful community partnerships, like the one we are launching in collaboration with J.P. Licks allow us to make a real difference in the lives of the more than 7,000 children and families we serve each year," said Joan Wallace-Benjamin, President and CEO, The Home for Little Wanderers. "Many people know others who have been served directly by The Home's programs and services, so they know the importance of their donation. We are delighted to be working with J.P. Licks and appreciate their commitment to The Home and our mission."
