Family support and case management at the frcC

The FRC offers an array of services to help strengthen families. Our goal is to work with families to identify their goals and areas of need and to help connect them to internal and external services and resources to meet those needs. We aim to help strengthen families through providing support, engagement, education, and help with accessing community resources. Each FRC family is connected to a knowledgeable and specialized staff person based on need and goals. Although there is no one size fits all when it comes to the FRC, some of the common needs include:

          • Mental health referrals
          • Navigating the housing process
          • Access to food, diapers, and other basic needs
          • Clothing and seasonal attire (i.e. coats, gloves, hats)
          • Understanding and navigating various systems (i.e. DCF, DTA, Social Security)
          • Legal assistance referrals
          • School and education related support
          • And many more…

The FRC staff will use their areas of experitise to help address these needs, concerns, and goals, however there is no set amount of time for which a family is to engage. Family voice is of the utmost importance at FRC. From what services they are interested in to the amount of time in which to engage, families are involved every step of the way.

The FRC staff is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural group of professionals here to meet family needs and provide one-on-one support to help families reach their goals.

Our specialized staff include:

  • Clinicians to make mental health referrals, provide brief assessments, and help navigate the many facets of the mental health system.
  • Family Partners to help families navigate the child-serving system and use their lived experience as caregivers to partner with other parents/guardians to help achieve their goals.
  • Family Support Workers to help families connect to resources in the community.
  • School Liaison to help families with issues pertaining to truancy, absenteeism, special education, and other educational concerns.
