The Center for Early Childhood

The mission of The Home’s Center for Early Childhood is to ensure that all children have a strong start in life, and social-emotional wellness is the linchpin of healthy development. Through a variety of direct care services and training programs, The Center works with children, their caregivers and educators to help build and support strong social-emotional foundations when early connections are so critical, so that children are able to build relationships, learn and thrive.

Scientific studies have proven that 90% of brain development occurs during the first 5 years of life with the most critical phase during the first 36 months when the foundation is laid for a how a child perceives the world around him or her. This development is influenced by a child's relationships, experiences, and environment.

The Center is currently comprised of three programs at The Home.

The Rice Center
Supports parents during the transition to parenthood and throughout the early years of childhood when connections are critical to their child’s well-being and development. We offer clinical interventions for families with young children and address concerns regarding their young child’s behavior.

The Preschool Outreach Program
Provides individual play therapy, family therapy and support for parents and caregivers of children ages birth to 7. Services are provided in preschools, Head Start programs and day care centers and at our clinical offices in Roslindale, Massachusetts.
