FEATURED STORY Capital Campaign Reaches Major MilestonesHelp us build a brighter future for coming generations of children |
One Step at a TimeThe story below illustrates the positive impact of Longview Farm's environment on children who need a place to heal. Martin spent most of his first twelve years in a tiny 2-bedroom apartment. Both of his parents suffered from a skin disease and were uncomfortable going out in public, so he never went anywhere either, including school. |

Awarding Determination
Young woman served by The Home wins scholarship
One of the many success stories to come out of The Home's new Young Adult Resource Network (YARN) is that of Chiquana Clayton. Chiquana has overcome many struggles in her early life to get to the point where she is now: a high school graduate who is going to college in the fall. Her determination was recently recognized with a scholarship from The Foundation To Be Named Later.
Children Discover the Power of Yoga
As part of The Home's efforts to address the overall well-being of the children in our care, some of our programs have been introducing the kids to yoga. This powerful form of exercise helps the kids learn ways to reduce stress through relaxation techniques, from breathing methods to meditation.
With a Little Help from our Friends
Support from our donors and volunteers makes it possible for us to provide the "extras" that most kids and families take for granted. The Columbian Lodge of Boston, volunteers from Wells Fargo and The Home's Young Professionals Group are just a few examples of those who have recently made a difference for our kids.
The Home's Academic Support for College & Life program is the only one of its kind in New England.
This first-year college program supports youth aging out of state care and transitioning to higher education. In partnership with Bridgewater State University, ASCL provides daily support to its students, from mental health services to academics and social life. The innovative program helps make college a reality for young people, many of them former foster youth, who otherwise lack the resources needed to pursue higher education.
