In August 2009, The Home for Little Wanderers (The Home) and Bridgewater State University (BSU) partnered to provide a unique program that supports young people as they successfully transition from state systems of care into higher education. Academic Support for College and Life is a research-based, outcomes-oriented program. We offer youth (over the age of 18 years) clinical, social, academic, vocational, and daily living supports. ASCL students reside on the BSU campus throughout their time at the university.
Program Commitment
The Home and BSU share a mutual and longstanding commitment to expanding the educational opportunities available to college-age youth in at-risk circumstances. Founded in 1799, The Home promotes the healthy growth, development, and eventual independence of children and youth by supporting, restoring, or creating a living environment that best meets their individual needs. BSU is a public institution originally founded in 1840 whose mission includes an emphasis on providing access to underserved populations while offering educational opportunities for the region and the State.
